Portrait Mode

What is Portrait Mode?

Blurred background in your images? How creative you are! You can get the same expression from your client almost every time. If you are into portraiture, this is the best mode you can get in terms of skin tone improvement. The camera senses a human subject and levels out any unwanted sharpness. You get a softer skin tone and hair correction all done by the camera for you.

The picture that you took with your camera is the imagination you want to create with reality. Scott Lorenzo

You get a multi-shot option in this mode, which will help you in a lot of ways if you are a starter. Using a wide-open lens(f 1.4/ f 1.8) or a telephoto lens(70-200mm) is highly recommended. These can be achieved with kit lenses also if you don't have one. Just make sure you have your subject near to your camera than the background. Focus the eye rather than nose or hair. Eyes are the ones that catch everyone's attention.

The contrasting elements usually come into focus faster which is a boon and a curse at the same time. The trouble, especially when using autofocus with all focus points active at the time, is that you will get out of focus images. The camera tries to focus all the contrasting elements that the focus points detect which may lead to non-focusing of the desired focus spots.

Try to use a single focus point which will let you control the focus.
